Rise & Puff's High Protein Tortilla Wins a 2026 Great Taste Award

Rise & Puff's High Protein Tortilla Wins a 2026 Great Taste Award

A high-protein tortilla should not taste like a compromise. It should still warm up soft, puff beautifully in the pan, and make whatever you put inside it better.

That is what we set out to create with our High Protein Tortilla. Now, it has been recognized with a 2026 Great Taste Award from The Guild of Fine Food.

With 10g of protein, 2g net carbs, and the light texture people expect from Rise & Puff, this tortilla was built for meals that deliver on both flavor and nutrition. The award makes the news official, but the goal has always been simple. Taste comes first.

Great Taste is an independent food and drink accreditation program run by the Guild of Fine Food. Products are evaluated by a panel of more than 500 chefs, buyers, food writers, retailers, and other industry experts.

The food is assessed through blind tasting, which means judges focus on what is in front of them rather than the brand or packaging. Each entry is judged on its own merit and may receive a one-, two-, or three-star award.

For a product to earn recognition, it has to stand up on taste. That makes this award especially meaningful to us.

Nutrition facts can tell you plenty about a product. They cannot tell you whether you will look forward to eating it.

That distinction has shaped Rise & Puff from the beginning. We believe better-for-you food should still feel generous, satisfying, and familiar. Nobody should have to choose between a tortilla that supports their goals and one that belongs at the center of a genuinely good meal.

The Great Taste Award recognizes the part of the product that cannot be measured on the nutrition panel. It recognizes the eating experience.

That is why this win feels like more than another badge for the package. It confirms that adding more protein did not mean leaving great taste behind.

High Protein Without Giving Up the Puff

Our High Protein Tortilla is made with avocado oil and is ready after about 60 seconds in a hot pan.

Preheat a dry skillet or nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Place the tortilla in the hot pan and cook it for roughly 20 to 30 seconds on each side.

As it warms, air pockets should begin to form across the surface. Let them rise rather than pressing them flat. Those bubbles help create the tender texture and warm, fresh-made feel that make Rise & Puff tortillas different.

Once the tortilla is heated through, fill it immediately or keep it covered with a clean towel while you prepare the rest.

One minute is usually all it takes to turn a refrigerated tortilla into something warm, flexible, and ready for breakfast wraps, tacos, quesadillas, or personal pizzas.

It brings serious protein to the meal without feeling dense or rubbery. It still feels like a tortilla. It is quick enough for a busy weekday and good enough to serve when you have time to enjoy it.

How Rise & Puff Wins Across The Board

The High Protein Tortilla is not the first Rise & Puff product to earn the Great Taste recognition.

Our Original, Organic, and  Gluten-Free Tortillas have previously received awards, along with our French Onion Soup  and Pesto and Goat Cheese Quesadillas. Each product is different, but the idea behind them is the same.

Start with food people already love and choose ingredients thoughtfully. Make it easier to serve at home. Never treat taste as an afterthought.

The High Protein Tortilla carries that idea into a new kind of everyday staple. It gives people more protein and fewer net carbs while keeping the warm, homemade character that first inspired Rise & Puff.

Bring Home an Award-Winning Puff

We are proud of what is inside our High Protein Tortilla. We are even prouder that it tastes like something you would choose whether you were counting protein or not.

Warm one in the pan, let it puff, and build a meal around whatever you love.

Because better nutrition may bring you to the table, but great taste is what makes you happy to come back.
