Mark & Philip love tortillas. Most people do. In fact, tortillas are one of the most popular foods in America. But take a trip through your grocery store aisle and you will notice that many tortilla brands rely on chemicals and preservatives to extend shelf life or to make manufacturing more cost-effective. Plus, many are riddled with saturated fats.

None of these extra ingredients enhance the taste of the tortilla. So, the Rise & Puff journey started by reimagining the tortilla.

The team at Rise & Puff created a tortilla with only four ingredients: flour, avocado oil, water, and salt. That’s it– the final four! 

Non-GMO winter wheat flour and heart-healthy avocado oil combine to create a light, flaky, pliable tortilla. Not only is our recipe better for you, but it has that homemade taste, rivaling any other tortilla you will find in the grocery store. 

With the success of our tortillas, we then launched a line of Rise & Puff quesadillas. Our gourmet quesadillas are packed with only high-quality, natural ingredients, and contain zero preservatives. Each quesadilla is 300 calories or less, packed with up to 20g of protein, and contains less sugar than its traditional counterparts.

Finding the right flavor profile while eliminating unwanted ingredients requires significant effort and time. We make our own sauces in our quesadillas because it allows us to control quality, nutrition and taste. For example, our BBQ sauce does not contain corn syrup, which is quite common among most available BBQ sauces. In our French Onion Soup quesadilla, we wanted to keep that great umami taste but achieve it without the traditional beef broth. After much effort, our chefs discovered the right balance of miso, providing great flavor with an improved health profile. This enables our French Onion Soup quesadilla to be vegetarian. We made thousands of choices like these when developing products to balance great taste and nutrition.

For our proteins, we use only the best ingredients available, such as all white meat chicken and nitrate-free pepperoni. For all cheese selections, we use premium, all-natural cheeses. The quality and nutritionals of these ingredients are what sets us apart from other convenience foods.
